Theatre Royal Plymouth
This major refurbishment of the Theatre Royal in Plymouth included an extension to the building, new interiors, new external public realm and a complete rebranding exercise.
Fine Science designed the lighting for the new front-of-house areas - cafe, restaurant, exhibition, bars, box office, lounges, circulation and the external areas.
The interior lighting scheme comprised mainly of ceiling recessed downlights which needed to be carefully coordinated with voids in the structural concrete above.
The exterior scheme comprises a series of 10m tall columns with clusters of projectors lighting the street below: referencing the theatrical lighting found inside the building.
